Group Fitness Training at Titan Up

Hi friends! I enjoy training like an athlete, do you? I am stronger and more confident now that I ever have been thanks to the trainers and members at Titan Up pushing me to lift HEAVY.

Jacksonville Mom Co-Founder, Megan Kilis, invited Reporter and foodie of River City Live, Rance Adams, to try a Titan Up class. Here’s a sneak peek of what it’s like on leg day at Titan Up!

I’ve been at Titan Up for three years, and here’s why I love it:

Group fitness with a trainer

It’s all about the people! I’ve found that I normally workout with the same group of people at the same class times, and we’ve become friends. We’ll get together for happy hours, ask about life events, celebrate when good things happen, and band together when life throws a curve ball.

Class sizes are limited to the number of people that each rack can hold, 4-5 members per rack. This means a class can hold 16-20 people with 4 racks in use and up to 25 if all 5 racks are used. However, there are a variety of class times each day and classes are rarely full.

The trainer is the anchor of the class. They open the class by going through the warm up, then demoing the meat of the workout. I LOVE that the trainer walks around checking form and encouraging us! It’s truly all about lifting the right way and having fun.

Tracking results

Titan Up gives you a base line to start your journey. At the beginning of each 13-week challenge, they bring in scanners that measure things like body composition and BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). As you go through the program, scans are taken every 13 weeks and you see progress!

We track weight lifting numbers. My PR numbers currently are:
Bench: 120
Pull Ups: 6 Raw
Squat: 210
Deadlift: 220

When I started, I could not do ONE RAW PULL UP! These numbers have taken me three year to work up to, and it feels good to be strong! You should see the celebration when one of us hits a new PR!

Community

The community at Titan Up is unique. We are all ages and all walks of life. Some work full time, some don’t. Some have small children, some have grandkids. Some are former Jacksonville Jags Cheerleaders (Hey Jennifer!), and some were mediocre high school athletes (me!). But we all come in with smiles and the willingness to out in the effort the workout calls for.

Titan Up has given me the gift of training with others as well as building strength, endurance, and friendships. If you’re looking for a way change your body, join me for the next 13-week challenge. Tell them PVB Mom sent you, and get a week free!
